Clermont County Recorder, Carolyn Green

Carolyn Green, currently serving her fifth elected term, has been the Clermont County Recorder since 1989. Her duties as County Recorder are to make a complete, accurate and permanent record of every document pertaining to the conveyance and encumbrance of land within the County, to maintain permanent land records, to retain them in archival form, and make those records constantly accessible to the public. Mrs. Green has served on the County Records Commission, the County Automatic Data Processing Board. She also has served on the Legislative Committee for the Ohio Recorder's Association.

Carolyn Green, prior to becoming County Recorder, was a teacher in the Goshen Local Schools. She resides in Goshen with her husband Carl, a retired teacher and owner of Green's Printing Company. The Greens have one daughter, Karla, a faculty member at Holy Cross University in Boston, and four grandchildren. Mrs. Green graduated from Cumberland College in 1963 with a B.S. in Education. She received her Masters Degree from Xavier University in 1973.

Mrs. Green was instrumental in the installation of the Recorder's first computer system in 1993. In June of 2002 the Clermont County Recorder's office went on line for public search. On going projects in the Recorder's office are; the digitization of all the record plats in the office and to make these digitized images available by the internet, to scan all the indexes back to 1953 and to scan the matching documents for the indexes, create a program to allow internet users to search the scanned indexes and print the related documents.  Her goals are to continue updating the current computer system and to digitize the historical indexes and images, to preserve them for future generations and to use the most up-to-date technologies to make this information available to the public. Mrs. Green has not forgotten the past. All historical records have either been repaired or recreated. The original records have been moved off-site to safe guard them in case of a disaster.
